What Is It

An Independent, Self-Sufficient Power System

A microgrid is a small-scale power generation and distribution system that can operate independently ("island mode") or in parallel with the main utility grid. Our Smart Microgrid System combines solar PV, battery energy storage and diesel generators into one unified architecture, with an intelligent EMS acting as the brain of the system.

By digitally dispatching every energy source in real time, the system maximizes renewable penetration, stabilizes voltage and frequency, and automatically switches between sources — delivering reliable power to areas where the grid is absent, weak or expensive to extend.

The EMS automatically selects the most efficient operating strategy based on solar output, load demand and battery state of charge.

Mode A
PV + Diesel

Diesel-anchored, PV-assisted

The diesel generator forms the grid and supplies stable voltage/frequency around the clock, while solar PV directly powers the load to cut fuel consumption. Ideal for sites with limited storage needs or where continuous diesel operation is required.

Best for: minimal storage investment
Mode B
PV + Diesel + ESS

Diesel-anchored with storage absorption

The diesel generator remains the grid anchor, while the battery absorbs surplus PV output when generation exceeds the load — preventing reverse power and protecting the genset. Stored energy is released during peak demand to further reduce fuel use.

Best for: moderate renewable penetration
Mode C
PV + ESS + Diesel

Battery-anchored, diesel backup

The battery forms the grid and provides stable voltage/frequency, storing surplus solar energy. The diesel generator shifts to a backup role, starting only when the battery state of charge drops below threshold. This mode achieves the highest renewable penetration and the lowest fuel consumption.
